If you are interested in walking you might like to contact the Battisford Walking Group who meet on 1st Sunday of every month, usually at 9.30a.m. at a predetermined place. This was usually Battisford Village Hall, but they plan to begin future walks from the Punchbowl.
Walks range from 3-7 miles. They have been in the local vicinity of Battisford, Combs, Ringshall and Barking, and on occasion have ventured further afield to Felixstowe, Kersey, etc.
If the walk does not commence from the meeting point we car-share to the start of the walk.
Jane Pope and Janice Pryke co-run the group, and always pre-walk the route to ensure it is suitable and more familiar when we lead on the day.
Membership of the group is free. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but should be kept on the lead at all times.
There is a core group of 6-8 walkers but this can fluctuate and is dependent on the members’ social calendar. They are a sociable group who are proactive in helping to organise routes or make suggestions for future walks. The walks are taken at a moderate pace and usually take 2-3 hours. Sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing are recommended.
New members welcome.
If the weather is “iffy” on the day, please check with Janice Pryke (774933) or Jane Pope (615541) between 8.30 and 9a.m. For more information please email firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
